FEELING GOOD…

Today I saw the sunrise…Did you?

Oh sun, how I’ve missed you!

Here in Austin (TX), after a few rainy days, it feels like it has been raining forever

But today, we enjoy the sun! And it feels so good, I have more energy, more ideas, more inspiration. I get more things done!

It’s interesting how weather affects us, right?

But this post is not about the sun or rainy weather, it’s about “FEELING GOOD”...

I mean that feeling of pure happiness without any reason when every song sounds like your favorite song, when you notice the beauty around you, when all people seem like nice people…

That beautiful state of being when you are smiling for no reason, when you’re fully present and enjoying the moment here and now.

WHY DON’T WE FEEL THIS WAY ALL THE TIME or at least MOST OF THE TIME?

Why do we wait for a special reason (buy a new house, find ‘the one’, get our dream job, recover from illness, etc.) to feel good, to feel happy?

When you’re happy for a particular reason, you are still in misery - because that reason can be taken from you tomorrow ( Deepak Chopra).

Sometimes we don’t even realize but FEELING BAD is a DECISION we make. It’s our choice HOW we perceive the world around us and how we decide to react.

More often, we feel bad and we suffer because we decide to believe our negative thoughts and we just don’t give ourselves permission to feel good.

I know, LIFE just happens...

No one can be happy and feel good all the time.

Viktor Framkl (an Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist, author and Holocaust survivor) tells in his famous book Man’s Search for Meaning :

- “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

We always have freedom to choose. SO...MAKE FEELING GOOD your priority.

When you commit to feel good, everything changes!

Remember:

The good life is a process, not a destination ...
