What about my personal story?
I’m a truly happy and fulfilled person, loving wife, mom of two wonderful kids, grateful daughter, sister, and friend. I’m also a happy professional who found her true calling: to make a difference in people’s lives.
But it wasn’t always like this.
I have been through very tough times. It was a long process of self-discovery and self-realization.
I used to be overweight as a kid. I found myself very unattractive and struggled with my confidence and self-esteem.
I also lost my mother when I was pretty young. For a long time, I felt guilty about what I said or didn’t say to her, what I did or didn’t do for her when she was still alive.
I have lived in different countries where I had to start over, find new friends, find my new-self and my place in the world.
During my student years in France, sometimes I had little or nothing to eat, but I had faith in my dreams.
I know from my own experience what a toxic relationship is, what being manipulated or guilted feels like, how draining, unpleasant and unhealthy it can be.
I have divorced a narcissist. I know what pathological jealousy is, what it means to be denigrated and emotionally abused, and have been at the place where you no longer realize what’s normal and what’s not.
I have also experienced professional burnout, severe depression and serious health problems.
I used to believe that I had to be perfect and please everyone all the time in order to be loved and accepted.
I also used to believe that that self-care was selfish.
